Yes to Learn
Please say yes to learning. Do you think it’s easy to learn something new? Probably depends on what it is, right? Learning is fun. Every teacher wants you to believe that. But pause and think, do you believe education is fun?
Often the process of learning is hard. You actually have to put forth effort to learn something new. Effort may look like having a tutor, watching instructional videos, talking with others, or even building something with your hands. That’s part of the process of learning, seeing it from different perspectives. The process will bring out questions. You may pause to dig out answers to clarify what is halting you from understanding.
Faith comes by obedient steps. As a Christian, you understand you will make different choices. Small daily decisions will impact your faith for your lifetime and for eternity. Today you are going to open your Bible more. A beautiful way to grow in your faith is by reading the words God gives you in Scripture. You will read stories written for you to see God’s majesty, His creativity, and ultimately His love for people.
Throughout your entire life, seasons will unfold of new lessons and facts for what you are walking through. New lessons to mold and shape you. Trials that are hard and complicated and full of emotion. Moments where you are riding a giant wave of joy. Spend each season learning about God. He is with you at each and every stage.
A path of faith will have many significant stories, character being built, comparing different translations of Scripture, learning geographical locations, understanding time periods, and cultures. And we are simply talking about what is happening in God’s Word. He is also going to guide your faith by life stories and experiences. The reality is this, one day you will not wake up and have learned every story and character trait about Him. God is too big and too majestic for us to comprehend. That’s part of the excitement and mystery of God! Just because you cannot learn everything about Him, does not mean you should not learn at all.
Quite the opposite, rather you should be picky about what you are learning. Asking questions and digging in The Bible to see what it says about certain things. What questions do you want answered? Have you sought out those answer’s in God’s word? What about the questions you wrote on Day 1? There are so many opinions in the world, but the real truth is found in The Bible. Open it and discover all God has to teach you! Educating yourself on God takes effort, your effort. And your effort will lead to a deeper relationship with The Creator of the World.

Journal
Make two columns in your journal. Column one should include things you know about God. Column two are things you are curious about God. Today pick two things in each column and search for Bible verses to support your knowledge and curiosity. Another day, come back and complete your lists.
Prayer
God, open my eyes to see You in Your Word. May my mind and heart be teachable. Show me who You are and how you want me to learn and live.
When my questions come, may I seek you first. Amen.
