Prayer is a connection between you and God. It’s your way of going deeper in your relationship to Him. Prayer is a conversation. Prayer has to start somewhere. Psalm chapter 105 verse 4 says, “Seek the Lord and the strength He gives. Seek His presence continually.” Prayer is an action, so boldly choose to begin. That’s where your faith steps in. That’s where you open yourself to trusting God.
You can start your day with a simple prayer for God to guide your steps. Then later when you hop in the car, at a red stoplight, tell God, thank you for His Son Jesus for the blood poured out. At a yellow light, tell God thank you for getting through. At a green light, tell God He’s a full “go” in your life. I know some of you do not drive yet, but see that’s why I want you to look up. Notice what is going on around you and how you can talk to God. In a world that says “go”, pausing in moments creates an awareness of God. When you walk with an awareness of God, these ordinary moments in your life instead profound opportunities of connection with The God who has called you by name.
The book of Psalms in the Bible guides us to align our hearts with prayer. As you read through these Bible verses, read them as a prayer from your heart. Praying prayers written by someone else teaches you ways to say your own. You will gain confidence to keep praying, which is exactly what God is longing for from you.

Prayer
Lord, I know You are worthy of my prayers. You are The One True God, whom I can trust and build a relationship with each day. May I learn to pray in new ways. May the words I say bring glory to You. Open my eyes to become more aware of moments to pray. In Your Name, Amen.
