Victory in Identity
You could take the way society sees you and apply it to your identity. Better yet, let’s hold up God and His Word as your outline. When you take your ideals and things you’ve tried to make perfect in your personality or looks or extra-curricular activities, you will see a gap. A gap in the reality versus the idealism of perfection. That gap shouldn’t worry you. God planned it that way. He wants you to see your need for Him and He wants to show you who you are …
You are a child of God – John 1:12
You are chosen – Colossians 3:12
You are tenderly loved by God – Jeremiah 31:3
You are Christ’s friend – John 15:15
You are knit together in your mother’s womb – Psalm 139:13
You are God’s workmanship – Ephesians 2:10
What an affirmative description of who are you! Only God looks at you and sees all of this at one time! Oh, beautiful girl, God looks at you with a fatherly love and says “it is good.” Genesis 1:31 says, “God saw all that He had made, and it was very good.” You are very good!
If how you are living is against who God is and what He says about you, then it’s time to pause and pray. Ask God to help you see your worth and beauty from His eyes. Ask Him to remove the ugliness of selfishness that’s been built up in your mind and heart.
Let’s look at God’s Word in Hebrews 12:1-2:
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, we must get rid of every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and run with endurance the race set out for us, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for Him He endured the cross disregarding its shame, and has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Keep your eyes on Jesus, keep your eyes on your path.

Prayer
Shed my selfishness Lord. May I keep my eyes on you Jesus. You have a plan for my life, but I need to You to “run with endurance”. Amen
